Mosaic Felt Bag Workshop by Noriko Nozawa in Bangkok

saha group trade fairIf you’re in Bangkok from June 30th – July 3rd, 2011 then I recommend a shopping day at The 15th Saha Group Fair “Saha Wonderful WORLD”, a MEGA exhibition showcasing the Group’s latest collections of top-quality export products ranging from garments and textiles to leather, footwear, food, and household products at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from 10:00 to 22:00 every day. Saha Group’s consumer products will be presented at over 850 booths offering over 1,000 items, all at special prices. NorikoWhile there, take a quilt class! Learn mosaic patchwork with Noriko Nozawa. Noriko has been teaching in Spain, Belgium and recently was here in Bangkok in March. She has been quilting for over 11 years. bagsThis class is for anyone who is interested in quilting and can use a sewing machine. The class is 3 hours long and you will finish the project within that time. Cost is 2450 baht. You will make a sewing bag and learn these five techniques:

  • how to arrange a mosaic pattern
  • sew with variegated thread
  • appliqué with invisible thread
  • make your own label
  • and learn a neat new technique for appliqué

Choose a class time

  • Saturday July 2, 14:00 to 17:30
  • Sunday July 3, 10:00 to 13:30
  • Sunday July 3, 14:00 to 17:30.

Create a quilt and show support for Japan after the earthquake

  • the theme is “Japanese quilt” and you can show this by fabric, quilting or any idea you have
  • finished size up to 100 x 100 cm including borders
  • you have up until 15 June 2011 to submit your quilt to Wien Co. (Janome) or Sewing Lovers Club shops

The quilts will be part of a traveling exhibit in Thailand to help Japan after the earthquake.
