Kimono House at Pahurat
Kimono House has a huge variety of quilting cotton, and some linen. It’s on the corner of Yaowarat and Maha Chai Roads, diagonally across the street from Starbucks, open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. You can find it on google maps.
Nearby mall The Old Siam has two upscale fabric shops, both named Rani. The owners are two brothers whose grandfather arrived in Thailand from India in 1903.
- Kimono House has brand name quilting fabric such as Moda.
- Linen for 250 baht per meter
- The Old Siam

I saw lots of chiffon at China World Mall in Pahurat. Maybe Rani fabrics at The Old Siam mall in Pahurat, they have dressy fabrics (there are two Rani stores – I think they’re called Rani Lace).

Hi Jill,
Just wanted to thank you for this wonderful resource! Also an update for you that Kimono House has moved. They are now at the intersection a little further up the road, opposite Mega Plaza… still wonderful selection and great prices 😊

Jill’s blog is a terrific resource for fabric shopping in Bangkok! Thanks, Jill, for all of your efforts – I spent nearly a whole day in China World Mall alone, must go back for more.
I have three questions, two directly related to quilting, one not (not sure it’s appropriate here):
Is there a store in Pahurat or elsewhere where I can buy freezer paper? I use it for making appliques, not freezing food.
Is there any English or English/Thai quilting group that meets to share quilting related knowledge?
Is there anyplace in Bangkok that sells clothing patterns (McCall’s, Simplicity, Burda, Vogue)? I get only blank looks when I ask.
Thanks again for this terrific quilting resource – I just found it after living in Bangkok for seven years!!
